The ‘Central Interceptor’ (CI) is a monumental interagency infrastructure project that will run underground from near Auckland’s city centre, under Manukau Harbour through to the Māngere Wastewater Treatment Plant. Tony will provide an update of his 2022 presentation on the project, particularly the 72 metre shaft that required seminal G/CRP engineering and manufacturing solutions to manage hydraulic flow and hydrodynamic loads of waste water and sewer gases.
