The session covers the development of an automated system for producing one-piece carbon fibre wheels at scale, including mould tool design capable of maintaining vacuum integrity, withstanding high resin injection pressures and operating at elevated temperatures while delivering precise geometries on demould.
James Whatmough, Director of Innovative Composites, will speak on the company’s extensive capability in vacuum-formed plastics and custom composite manufacturing, in particular its recent acquisition and its repositioning within the Australian composites manufacturing sector. He will also discuss the acquisition of One Composites from the liquidators of Zone RV and the strategy to make advanced composite manufacturing equipment accessible to a broader cross-section of Australian industry.
